Haunted Gingerbread Showdown
Earlier this year, Denver-based production company High Noon Entertainment, creator of hit reality shows like Fixer Upper and Cake Boss, came to WestWorks Studios to film Food Network’s Haunted Gingerbread Showdown. The four-part series features nine of the nation’s top gingerbread artists and is hosted by celebrity chef Sandra Lee. Food Network Star Jason Smith and chef Jamika Pessoa judge the contest, and are joined by rotating judges including “Mistress of the Dark” Elvira. The winner takes home a $25,000 prize and a feature in Food Network Magazine.
For several weeks, High Noon took over WestWorks Studios – using multiple stages and control room, and filming contestant interviews in the “dead room” (our audio recording room which is aptly named for a spooky show!). The WWS conference room became production offices, and a break room kitchen became a food prep and dishwashing station. WWS studio cameras were supplemented with Sony FS7 packages. Parts of the set were crafted using WestWorks set pieces, including elements from the ReadySet Urban.
Thanks to the partnership between High Noon and WestWorks, this production was able to be shot and edited in Colorado. Make sure to tune in and support #filmincolorado! Haunted Gingerbread Showdown airs Sunday nights at 10pm ET/PT on Food Network through October.
