Behind the Scenes: WestWorks Studios 2018 Control Room Updates

We’re excited to announce a series of updates coming to WestWorks Studios in 2018. We’re always looking for ways to expand our offerings and bring our clients the latest and greatest technology to simplify production. Here’s what’s on the horizon for the rest of the year.

With the NewTek VS4000, we now have the capability to connect with 4 remote locations simultaneously via Skype, bringing more voices into a live or recorded program.

The MC256 audio console is a 48-fader control surface with multiple touch screens—but it brings more than just good looks. Internal digital signal processing improves sound quality and reliability. It’s “on the network,” allowing for remote setup and paving the wave for future IP infrastructure.

  • Chyron Graphics Console

Motion graphics become more complex every year. This updated model has fresh hardware and a new user interface for live graphic insertion.

  • Sony Switcher

The Sony XVS-7000 is a 4 M/E switcher that comes to WestWorks from the PyeongChang Olympics. It’s HDR compatible, with full color correction on all inputs and outputs. It’s also built with IP networking capabilities (are you sensing a trend here?).

As you can see, we’re really focusing on enabling UHD/4K capability and IP connectivity for the future. That’s just a quick overview. Stay tuned for a closer look at each item as they are integrated into Control Room 1.
