And the winners are….

On Thursday, May 18, 2017, the Downtown Denver Partnership (DDP) hosted its annual Downtown Denver Awards and we were honored to work with them to produce the winners’ videos.

The DDP ensures that downtown Denver remains a prosperous, diverse, and distinctive center city. For over 50 years, the Partnership has recognized organizations and businesses that help improve or preserve the vitality of Downtown Denver. WestWorks Studios has partnered with DDP on this project for the past two years.

We are privileged to be a part of the Downtown Denver Partnership and active in our community, supporting Denver’s diverse organizations. The values of outreach and partnership are woven into the fabric of Comcast, and our ability to produce videos on behalf of our partners is but one contribution we are pleased to make to the community.

“WestWorks is the best at what they do. But beyond their expertise in video production, they worked extremely hard to understand each nominee and the context of our annual awards,” says Brea Olson, Senior Manager of Marketing and Communications at the Downtown Denver Partnership. “The videos they produced capture the spirit of each nominee as well as the Partnership’s vision for a vibrant center city.”

In addition to the DDP, we’ve recently had the opportunity to work with the Phamaly Theater Company and Easterseals Colorado. Every one of our clients provides new opportunities to work with people from a variety of backgrounds on a wide range of topics. Phamaly and Easterseals are just two more partners that exemplify the diversity of the organizations in Denver.

Phamaly is a theater production company (formerly known as The Physically Handicapped Actors & Artists League) that produces plays and musicals throughout Denver, cast entirely of performers with disabilities. Phamaly was formed as a response to a lack of performance opportunities for artists with disabilities, and has been entertaining through the arts and inspiring “people to re-envision disability through professional theatre” since 1990. In order to help raise awareness, WestWorks Studios produced several 30-second spots that highlight the Company and their upcoming productions.

Easterseals Colorado

For nearly a century, Easterseals has been helping countless children and adults who live with disabilities and special needs, such as autism. They help with medical rehabilitation, employment and job training, child and adult day care, respite services and much more.

In late 2016, the video we produced was used by the organization both at its annual fundraiser gala and to raise awareness via social media channels.

These are but a few of the organizations WestWorks Studios supports. We’ve also worked with the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce and the Denver Metro Chamber Leadership Foundation, the Colorado Department of Higher Education, Lighthouse Writer’s Workshop, the Aurora Public Schools Foundation and Junior Achievement, to name a few more.

Video is vital for an organization of any kind to utilize in its communication efforts. Non-profits might shy away from video production because of perceived costs, which is a valid concern. However, depending on the scope, subject, and intended use, it can be affordable to even the most budget-conscious organizations. In the right hands, video is a compelling tool to tell your story, raise awareness, and share your mission.

We look forward to continuing partnerships with these and many more organizations, and to developing new partnerships in our community.
